1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Tidy Money application (“Tidy,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

 

2. Eligibility and Minimum Age

To use Tidy Money, you must:

​

  • be at least 18 years old, or

  • the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher.

​

The App is not intended for minors.


We comply with COPPA (U.S.), GDPR (EU), LGPD (Brazil), and other applicable child-data regulations.
If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will immediately delete the account and all associated personal data.

 

3. Description of the Service

​

Tidy Money is a free financial application designed to help users:

​

  • view income and expenses

  • manually enter financial data

  • categorize transactions

  • create budgets

  • receive alerts and insights

  • access AI-powered predictions and recommendations

​

Tidy does not provide financial, tax, legal, investment, or accounting advice.

The App may be modified, expanded, suspended, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice.

 

4. Account Creation and Security

​

When creating an account, you agree to:

​

  • provide accurate information,

  • keep your login credentials confidential,

  • not share or transfer your account,

  • promptly report any unauthorized access.

​

We may suspend or terminate accounts for:

​

  • violations of these Terms,

  • fraudulent or suspicious activity,

  • misuse or abuse of the App.

 

5. User-Provided Data (Manual Financial Input)

​

The App allows you to manually enter financial information (“User-Provided Data”), including:

​

  • expenses, income, budgets, goals

  • notes, descriptions, categories

  • travel or lifestyle information

  • any other voluntary data you choose to submit

​

By submitting such information, you agree that:

5.1 Accuracy and Responsibility

​

You are solely responsible for:

​

  • the accuracy, completeness, and truthfulness of all User-Provided Data,

  • not entering false, misleading, or fraudulent information,

  • not inputting data belonging to third parties without lawful authorization,

  • not entering sensitive data that is not requested by the App.

5.2 Prohibited Content

​

You may not submit:

​

  • unlawful or harmful content

  • third-party personal data without consent

  • fabricated or exaggerated information

  • data intended to distort analysis or predictions

​

5.3 License to Process User-Provided Data

​

You grant Tidy Money LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to:

​

  • process, analyze, store, and interpret User-Provided Data,

  • generate insights, categorizations, and predictions,

  • use such data to create Anonymized Data.

​

5.4 No Verification

​

Tidy does not verify or validate User-Provided Data.
Insights, predictions, and results may be inaccurate if your manually entered data is incomplete or incorrect.

5.5 Limitation of Liability

Tidy is not liable for any loss, error, or consequence arising from User-Provided Data.

 

6. Connection with Financial Institutions

​

If you choose to connect your bank accounts through Open Banking providers, we may process:

​

  • transactions, income, expenses

  • balances

  • categorized data

  • identifiers of your financial institutions

  • any information supplied by the authorized data provider

​

Tidy does not access or store your banking credentials.

​

We are not responsible for:

​

  • errors or inaccuracies in third-party data,

  • synchronization delays,

  • failures caused by third-party platforms.

 

7. Processing of Personal Data

​

We process personal data only for:

​

  • operating and maintaining the App,

  • generating internal insights and predictions,

  • improving the App,

  • ensuring security and fraud prevention,

  • complying with legal obligations.

​

We do not sell personal data.

​

8. Anonymized Data (“Alt Data”)

​

Tidy may transform personal and financial data whether manually entered or obtained via Open Banking into Anonymized Data, using robust anonymization techniques:

​

  • data aggregation

  • identifier suppression

  • generalization

  • k-anonymity

  • l-diversity

  • statistical noise injection

  • reidentification testing

​

Once anonymized, such data:

​

  • cannot be used to identify you,

  • is not considered personal data,

  • may be retained indefinitely.

 

9. Broad License to Use Anonymized Data

​

You grant Tidy Money LLC a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to:

​

  • use

  • transform

  • analyze

  • publish

  • distribute

  • sell

  • license

  • commercialize

  • create derivative works from

​

Anonymized Data for any legitimate business purpose, including:

​

  • market intelligence

  • economic analysis

  • AI model development

  • financial datasets

  • reports for consulting firms, banks, insurers, retailers, hedge funds, and other organizations

​

You acknowledge that:

​

  • you have no ownership or rights over Anonymized Data,

  • you cannot request removal of Anonymized Data,

  • you cannot restrict its commercial use.

 

10. AI-Generated Insights and Profiling

​

The App uses artificial intelligence to:

​

  • categorize transactions

  • predict spending and liquidity

  • identify anomalies

  • suggest budget adjustments

  • analyze financial behavior

  • generate personalized insights

​

These outputs:

​

  • are informational only,

  • may be inaccurate,

  • do not constitute professional advice,

  • do not produce legally significant effects.

 

11. Intellectual Property

​

All content, code, design, algorithms, databases, and AI models are the exclusive property of Tidy Money LLC.

You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the App.

 

12. Modifications to the Service

​

We may, at any time and without notice:

​

  • add or remove features,

  • update or modify the App,

  • suspend or discontinue the service,

  • revise these Terms.

​

Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

 

13. International Data Transfers

​

13.1 Personal Data

​

May be transferred internationally using:

​

  • EU Standard Contractual Clauses,

  • UK International Data Transfer Addendum,

  • CCPA/CPRA safeguards,

  • LGPD-approved mechanisms,

  • equivalent protections.

13.2 Anonymized Data

​

May be transferred and commercialized without restriction, as it is not personal data.

 

14. Limitation of Liability

​

Tidy is not liable for:

​

  • economic losses

  • indirect or consequential damages

  • errors in third-party financial data

  • inaccurate insights due to user-provided data

  • decisions made based on the App’s outputs

  • service interruptions or failures

  • errors in AI predictions or categorizations

​

Liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

 

15. Indemnification

​

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tidy Money LLC from any claims arising out of:

​

  • misuse of the App,

  • inaccurate data you provide,

  • violation of these Terms,

  • harm caused to third parties.

 

16. Class Action Waiver and Arbitration

​

You agree that:

​

  • any dispute with Tidy must be resolved through individual arbitration,

  • you waive the right to participate in class actions,

  • you waive class, collective, or representative proceedings of any kind.

 

17. Governing Law

​

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Data protection rights will follow the laws applicable to your jurisdiction.
