You control all manually provided data.

 

2.2 Information Obtained Through Open Banking (only with your permission)

If you choose to connect your bank accounts, we collect:

  • income and spending information

  • balances

  • categorized transactions

  • bank or financial institution identifiers

  • any data provided by the authorized Open Banking provider

​

We never receive or store your banking credentials.

All bank connections occur through authorized Open Banking partners.

 

2.3 Information Automatically Generated by the App

This includes:

  • automated categorizations

  • AI-generated predictions and insights

  • anomaly detection

  • financial trends

  • statistical summaries

  • analytics of how you use the App

 

2.4 Device and Usage Information

We may collect:

  • device model and OS

  • language and region settings

  • App version

  • log data and diagnostics

  • interaction events (e.g., screens visited, actions taken)

 

3. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data to:

​

  1. Provide and maintain the App’s core functionality.

  3. Generate budgets, predictions, and alerts.

  4. Improve the App and develop new features.

5. Creation and Use of Anonymized Data (“Alt Data”)

Tidy may transform personal and financial data whether manually entered or obtained via Open Banking—into Anonymized Data, which cannot identify you.

 

5.1 How We Anonymize Data

We use industry-standard anonymization methods, including:

  • cohort aggregation

  • suppression of identifiers

  • generalization

  • k-anonymity

  • l-diversity

  • statistical noise injection

  • periodic re-identification testing

Once anonymized:

  • the data cannot identify any user

  • it is not considered personal data

  • it may be retained indefinitely

 

5.2 License to Use Anonymized Data (Option A – Broad License)

You grant Tidy a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to:

  • use

  • transform

  • analyze

  • publish

  • distribute

  • sell

  • license

  • commercialize

  • generate derivative works from

​

Anonymized Data for any legitimate business purpose, including:

​

  • market intelligence reports

  • macroeconomic indicators

  • consumer spending analytics

  • AI model training

  • datasets for consulting firms, banks, insurers, retailers, hedge funds, and other organizations

​

This license does not apply to personal data, only anonymized data.

 

5.3 No Rights Over Anonymized Data

​

Privacy rights such as access, deletion, correction, portability, and objection do not apply to Anonymized Data.

 

6. Your Rights

​

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

​

  • access your personal data

  • request correction

  • request deletion

  • restrict or object to processing

  • request data portability

These rights only apply to personal data, not to anonymized datasets.

Such AI-generated outputs:

  • do not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice

Anonymized Data is not subject to CCPA.
